Having just arrived from a week in a hostel in Chiang Mai, we felt really quite underdressed when we stepped into the lobby of the State Tower. The reception area is beautiful, with chandeliers and flowers to boot. We were warmly greeted by the Lebua staff.
We had booked a room for one night with a river view with Lebua at State Tower, but upon arrival we were upgraded for free to the Tower Club! The difference is a bit confusing – the Lebua suites are all the same but ‘Lebua at State Tower’ suites are on floors 21-25, whereas ‘Lebua Tower Club’ suites are on floors 51-59. So your views from the room are higher up, and you’ll have closer access to the rooftop bars and restaurants.
Our room was a lot bigger than anticipated – we had a lounge, kitchen area, huge bathroom, bedroom and the famous Lebua balcony.
The views from the room are amazing and surely Bangkok’s best hotel view. The design of the balcony allows for a panoramic view of the river and allows for plenty of people watching.
If you manage to tear yourself away from the view, Lebua is best known for its rooftop Skybar and golden dome. Both featured in the Hangover II film and there’s a ‘Hangovertini’ cocktail available in tribute. There’s actually several few bars and restaurants on the Lebua rooftop and the overall space is huge! Be warned that the food and drinks prices are expensive (£10 for a Diet Coke expensive) so it might be worth just popping up there for a cocktail or two depending on your budget.
We were only at Lebua for one night so we didn’t get to go in the swimming pool, but it did look appealing. There’s a huge gym on the same level too.
I must mention that breakfast is incredible at this hotel – a huge buffet with every food you could imagine. I’m always happy with any hotel that serves hash browns and beans, but there was so much choice… caramel cronuts, muffins, cakes, omelettes, cereals, meats (my boyfriend wouldn’t stop talking about the honeyed pork) and even quiche. You probably won’t need to eat for the rest of the day!
Let me know if you’ve stayed at this hotel, I’d love to hear what you thought. If you haven’t yet been but would like to experience Lebua Bangkok yourself, click here link to find the best deal!
I received no discount or payment for my stay at Lebua – all opinions are my own! This article contains affiliate links which add no extra cost to you when booking with Lebua, but I will receive a small commission for a referral if you use them. Thanks.
